EconomySwedbank Lithuania's data shows that residents of Lithuania in 2014 borrowed EUR 2,317 (LTL 8,000) on the average for their consumer needs. The most popular credit repayment term was 5 years as 40% of all those borrowing wanted to repay their credits in this particular period of time. In 2014, Swedbank issued more than half of all the new consumer credits on Lithuania's overall market of commercial banks. The total value of Swedbank's consumer credit portfolio accounted for EUR 153 million in late 2014. Residents of Lithuania most often apply for a consumer credit when planning their house repair and buying furniture and home appliances. Last year, the share of those who took out a loan for these purposes accounted for around 40%. Meanwhile, a total of 30% of borrowers obtained the bank's credit to buy a vehicle. The remaining share decided to get a consumer credit in order to mend their vehicles and for other consumer needs, including healthcare and entrainment.
Stasys Dailydka, head of Lithuanian Railways, calls 2014 the year of record investment as the company invested around EUR 400 million. Yet another continent is to be added on the list of markets of the Lithuanian food company Viciunu Grupe. The company will offer Australia dumplings made to a special gourmet recipe. The net profit of Lesto in 2014, based on preliminary unaudited financial statements, amounted to LTL 81.518 million (EUR 23.609 million) – almost twice as much as in 2013 when it was equal to LTL 43.372 million (EUR 12.561 million), the company said in a statement. Compared with the previous year, sales of the continued gas distribution activity of the Lithuanian gas distribution system operator AB Lietuvos Dujos in 12 months of 2014 increased by 16% and amounted to LTL 188.2 million (EUR 54.5 million). In 2013: LTL 161.9 million (EUR 46.9 million). Payouts to participants of pension funds are increasing every year in Lithuania. Participants of pension funds, or their relatives who inherited the rights to payouts, were paid EUR 14.3 million in 2014. With the purpose of expanding and diversifying export markets Lithuania's industrialist are planning seven business mission for 2015, among them – Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius' led visit to Australia. The Presidium of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) has confirmed on Tuesday that industrialists welcome the Government's plans to increase the minimum monthly wage once again in July 2015. |
