Soon Lithuanian Railways should give passengers some good news: if everything goes well, from late February they should be able to buy train tickets online. Also, passengers will enjoy much better wireless internet during their train trips.
Last year, Lithuanian Railways had 4.6 million passengers. The company's income in 2014 stood at EUR 473 million. Belarus and Russia are the main freight markets for Lithuanian Railways.
Freight from Belarus accounts for over 30% of total volume. "We are trying to make new contacts because freight service is our biggest asset, the main source of our income," said Dailydka.
