EconomyThe Nordic Investment Bank has issued a loan of 145 million euros to Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the LNG terminal in Lithuania, the country's energy minister announced on Friday amid Lithuania's plans to reduce the terminal's maintenance costs and provide guarantees to multimillion loans. In recent years the average vacancy rate for offices in Vilnius has been about 3%, one of the lowest rates in Europe. The indicator’s remaining stably low for some time has led more and more real estate developers to focus on office expansion in Vilnius, and that means free office space in the Lithuanian capital will grow. The Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania announce that in I quarter 2019, exports of services amounted to EUR 2.5 bn, a y-o-y increase of 19.2%, imports of services – EUR 1.4 bn and 14.6% respectively. The surplus on the balance of services amounted to EUR 1.0 bn or 9.6% of GDP, an annual increase of 26.6%. Lithuania's LNG terminal in the western port of Klaipeda has reported records results for June as about 2.4 TWh of natural gas were regasified and submitted to the natural gas transmission system, which was almost 200% more than in Jun, 2018 (0.8 TWh). Hilton Garden Inn, the first hotel of the Hilton chain, has been opened in central Vilnius on Friday, built by real estate developer Eika for 49 million euros and being part of the Live Square commercial and residential complex. The Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania published data on exports and imports of services for Q1 2019, broken down by country and type of service. It shows that in Q1 2019 exports of services amounted to €2.5 bn, a y-o-y increase of 19.2%, while imports of services stood at €1.4 bn, a y-o-y increase of 14.6%. Aviation specialists assign to the category of large aircrafts the plane which wing length (or wing span) ranges from 40 to over 60 meters. Some of them may carry about 300 tons of cargoes, others – nearly 700 passengers. Already last year Vilnius Airport was visited by 152 large aircrafts, whereas in 2017, the number of such planes equalled only to eight. This year, already 92 such planes have already landed in the capital, thus, at the end of the year, reaching a record is expected. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Latvia's Citadele Bank have issued a 37.8 mln-euro loan to Vilniaus Baldai, one of the largest furniture producers in Lithuania, reported EBRD. |
