EducationMykolas Romeris University (MRU) Armenian student Tatevik Hovhannisyan hopes to pursue a career in the diplomatic service, after she completes her Erasmus semester at MRU and Master's Degree studies. “Erasmus changed my life radically. It showed me that wherever you go, if you are eager enough you will achieve your goals, just don’t be afraid”, says Eric Mas Moncusi from Catalonia (Spain), who is currently ending his Erasmus study exchange in Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). Below is Eric’s text on his experiences in Lithuania. On 2nd June, 2017, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Assoc. Prof. Algirdas Monkevičius and Vice-Rector Dr. Inga Žalėnienė met with Korea's Dongseo University (DSU) Creative Startup Cluster CEO Prof. Kyongho Hahn. VMU Professor John Stewart Gordon, head of the Applied Ethics research cluster, will speak at the largest Baltic tech and innovations festival LOGIN in late May. The title of his paper is ‘Moral Rights for Intelligent Robots?’. In the end of May, Spanish was spoken loudly and proudly in the corridors of KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. The students and staff were invited to enjoy Spanish culture and traditions, to enjoy the sounds of Spanish language and music. The university graduates from alumni clubs and associations are transforming into professional communities, who provide career and study support for students and graduates”, says Rimantė Hopenienė, the coordinator of KTU Alumni Association. Four Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) students – Martynas Lendraitis, Kristijonas Kerekeš, Povilas Piartli and Donatas Miklušis – have been chosen for the summer internship at NASA Ames Research Centre. Three of them are studying at KTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design and one (Donatas) – at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Two guests from Bandung Institute of Technology, director of Partnership and International Relations Edwan Kardena and Head for Mobility Programme and Global Education Ayi Rohayati visited VGTU from 15th to 19th of May. While visiting the university they have met our International office Director Mrs. Aušra Pelėdienė, Vice-director Aleksandra Sokolova and Senior Erasmus+ Manager Ieva Bagdonaitė. They also had meetings with Director of Science and Research office assoc. Prof. Dr. Vaidotas Vaišis and Head of Department of Environmental Protection Prof. Dr. Saulius Vasarevičius. Office of the Government has opened its doors for creative labs of education experts and developers from Europe and the US. Participants of the innovations event have tried out some of the technology solutions, including mini-computer programming to create an automated plant watering system. |
