EducationErasmus+ programme for two students of Kaunas University of Technology Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture provided a great change to expand their professional knowledge, to improve communication and foreign language skills and to broaden horizons. President Dalia Grybauskaitė opened a tech and innovations festival LOGIN held for the eleventh time in Vilnius. This year, the event was launched at the Center for Civil Education – the most modern museum in the Baltic countries, located in the Park of the Presidential Palace. On 16 of May Vilnius University honoured two outstanding personalities – professor OTMAR SEUL (the Paris Nanterre University) and professor MARIE-CLAUDE VIANO (Lille University of Science and Technology) by awarding them with a degree of Doctor Honoris Causa. The State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania (SPB) and Kaunas University of Technology National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (KTU NIEC) has signed the collaboration agreement, which laid foundation for the new Patent Library – PATLIB Centre. This will be the first time, when a PATLIB Centre is established at a university. Over 30 professors and researchers from all over the world participated in the Week, which was held on 8-12 May. The latest issue of magazine Reitingai (Eng. Rankings) presents the ranking of Lithuanian higher education institutions again. Lithuania must overhaul its education system and use more high-tech solutions to maintain economic growth in the future, Danske Bank's chief economist for the Baltic countries said on Thursday. Senior Executives from Hollister Incorporated, a US-based global manufacturer of medical devices and equipment visited Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) earlier this month. The company intends to open a new production site in Kaunas; their planned investment is approximately EUR 50 million with around 300 new jobs to be created over the next several years. During the meeting, representatives from the Hollister Incorporated global corporate office and the University Rector’s team discussed plans. On May 19-20, Vytautas Magnus University will be hosting a 6th International conference “Language, Literature, and Culture – Traces of Multiculturalism”. This is a jointly organized event by three universities: Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), Süleyman Demirel University (Isparta, Turkey) and Çankaya University (Ankara, Turkey). More and more young people from other countries choose to study in Lithuania. Using the Erasmus+ opportunities they come to our country lead by curiosity and positive reviews of Lithuanian universities. For example, after coming here, Raphael Pelengaris, who had never heard about Lithuania before, has extended his studies at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) for one more semester. |
