EducationResearchers in Klaipeda prepare to launch a search for sunken Lithuanian ships, including the Prezidentas Smetona, the first Lithuanian warship of the interwar period, at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. President Dalia Grybauskaitė will attend the signing ceremony of agreement between Lithuania and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) today, 27 June, at 11 a.m. On Wednesday 21st June 2017, Prof. Ineta Dabašinskienė, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania, gave a lecture on Lithuanian language and culture to TUFS students studying Lithuanian and students preparing to study abroad at Vytautas Magnus University. DUO-Thailand program has been established since 2006 and 326 awardees have been supported over the past 11 years. June 16-18th were the dates of the 8th Hacker Games: Vilnius. It hosted around 150 attendees at VGTU "LinkMenų fabrikas". Saba Tavelishvili, second year student of VMU Master programme in International Relations and Diplomacy from Georgia, talks about his experience at Vytautas Magnus University. June 8th, 2017, diplomas were awarded to 24 graduates of the European joint Master's Degree programme Strategic Border Management. The graduation ceremony was held at Spain's University of Salamanca, one of six universities implementing the programme. Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) welcomes international students to apply for 12 Bachelor and 20 Master degree study programmes in the English language. Application deadlines for studies in the 2017/2018 Fall Semester are 20 June (Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism) and 1 July (all other programmes). Application submissions have to be sent online. From 2012 the partnership between VGTU and universities of Taiwan was based on bilateral agreements – student exchange, staff, personnel and scientist visits were being executed. From 2011 to 2015 more than 40 exchange students studied in VGTU: architecture, building engineering, electronical engineering, mechanics and business management. 6 students of VGTU in the past 3 years spent one semester each in partner universities in Taiwan. To make the partnership grow stronger universities of Taiwan and VGTU exchange the delagations of Heads of offices, analyze the infrastructure of partnerships, representatives of Taiwan universities attended conferences organized by VGTU. Most professors in Taiwan universities got their degrees in best universities in western universities and it has a big potential in VGTU. |
