EducationStaff Week 2017: Open Seminars from International Experts for KTU Academic Community2017-04-24, 18:18For the fourth time, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Department for Internationalisation is organising International Staff Week “Teaching in English in Non-English Speaking University“. The seminars will take place on 24–28 April. Cultural heritage plays an important role in the history and identity of Europe’s countries and indeed of the continent as a whole. A vital part of Europe’s economy, promoting our cultural treasures can only help boost growth and employment. On 27 April, Parliament votes on making 2018 the European Year of Cultural Heritage. More on this initiative, which aims to strengthen a sense of European identity, in our interview with Romanian MEP Mircea Diaconu. On 22 April 2017, scientists around the globe gathered to march for the cause of science and raised awareness about the importance of science for society. The third annual scientific conference ‘Contemporary Political Processes: Challenges and Opportunities’ at the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy. Every year, more and more students from foreign countries come to study to Lithuania. After some time, they admit to be amazed not only by the quality of studies, but also by beautiful country and charming nature. Tamara Machitadze from Georgia, marketing management master’s student from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) admits that Lithuanian sky is the most remarkable feature of our nature. The creativity and innovation centre “LinkMenų fabrikas” at Vinius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) in cooperation with global initiative VR First opened the Virtual Reality (VR) laboratory. Investors were choosing from 254 education institutions globally. Twenty-six education institutions were chosen and VGTU is among them. Other locations for VR Laboratories are such universities as Rochester (USA), Hamburg (Germany), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) and other. VMU International Cooperation Department has announced third (and the last one this academic year) competition for Erasmus+ students and recent graduate traineeship grants. Application deadline is 23rd of April. Italy's University of Pavia Language studies graduate Ivan Aimi has arrived at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) this week to begin a 3-month Erasmus+ Traineeship in the International Office. Kaunas is becoming more and more colourful with various languages spoken in the street, different cuisines offered by cafes and restaurants across the city. However, many of us are still too shy to talk to those who look and speak differently, to hear their stories and to inquire about their future plans. The team of researchers at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) together with Swiss physicists had synthesised unique material for the new generation solar elements. Japanese company Tokyo Chemical Industry has acquired the licence for the patent of the invention. |
