The President noted that the citizens of the two countries could be proud of increasingly closer contacts and expanding political, economic and cultural cooperation. Bilateral relations are further reinforced by common objectives in NATO and within the context of partnership with the European Union.
"The Turkey-Lithuania dialogue, developed in the spirit of alliance and partnership, leaves no doubt that we will continue our collaborative work in addressing the urgent problems and challenges facing the region, Europe and the world," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė strongly hoped that the people of Lithuania and Turkey would fully exploit mutually beneficial opportunities to improve the general welfare of both nations.
The President wished Turkey and its people many memorable moments of celebration as well as long years of well-being and prosperity.
