During the meetings, Lithuania's Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the country's political unity and cohesion. "Lithuania's experience on its path towards the EU and NATO membership shows the significance for the integration process of political consensus and mobilization to promote the country's interests". It is also important to maintain the pace of reforms. Reforms and measures, which were suggested by both the EU and NATO, are not ends in themselves - they provide a way to strengthen Georgia from the inside, help it to become a democratic, stable and strong country.
The Georgian leaders thanked Linkevičius for Lithuania's continuous and active support for Georgia on its path towards European integration, as well as for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
