The President underlined that together Lithuania and the United Kingdom created strong bonds of relationship based on mutual trust and support, becoming increasingly close partners and allies when dealing with common political, economic and security challenges in the European Union and NATO.
"I firmly believe that in the coming years we will continue standing united as we work effectively towards ensuring the well-being and security of the citizens of our both countries and the whole of Europe," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her strong hope that genuine and diverse people-to-people contacts as well as the development of new initiatives in arts, education and innovation would build up mutual knowledge and understanding.
She wished Queen Elizabeth II and members of the Royal Family continued good health and happiness, and also well-being, prosperity and many joyful moments of celebration to the people of the United Kingdom and Britons around the world.
