In the meeting with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas, Sonoura discussed bilateral political relations, the dialogue between the European Union and Japan, the reform of the UN Security Council; Japan was invited to join the Working Group on Women and Democracy of the Community of Democracies. Germanas appreciated Japan's support to Ukraine and called on its continuation in face of the conflict with Russia.
During his visit to Lithuania, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan is attending commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the issuance of 'Visas for Life' to Jewish population in the Japanese Consulate in Kaunas by a Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara in 1939-1940.
