Lithuania's Honorary Consulate opened in Auckland

During the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius' visit to New Zealand, Lithuanian Honorary Consulate in Auckland was officially opened on Friday, March 20. Businessman Algis John Mack of Lithuanian descent became the new Honorary Consul. During a meeting with members of the Lithuanian community in Oakland, Audronius Peciulaitis was given the award of honour of Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Lithuanian Diplomacy Star – for his long and fruitful representation of the Republic of Lithuania in the post of the Honorary Consul for 7 years. There are more than 250 Lithuanians currently living New Zealand.
