"Congratulations to you and your Reform Party for the successful elections. I was delighted by the news; I wish you successful and efficient formation of the Government", said Prime Minister Butkevičius.
In the telephone conversation Prime Minister Butkevičius has informed his Estonian counterpart about the municipal council and mayoral elections in Lithuania, which were held on Sunday. "In these historical elections, where, for the first time, citizens could elect their mayors directly, social democrats received the largest share of the votes, 20 per cent", stressed Prime Minister Butkevičius. Estonian Prime Minister has also extended his congratulations to the Lithuanian Head of Government.
Prime Ministers of both states have agreed to meet shortly at the informal meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Baltic Council of Ministers, to be held in Vilnius on 10 April, and, together with the Prime Minister of Latvia, to discuss matters of importance to the three states. Lithuania presides over the Baltic Assembly and holds chairmanship of the Baltic Council of Ministers in 2015.
