In her message of congratulations, the President wrote that for more than two decades now Lithuania and Japan had been successfully developing open and friendly relations along with mutually beneficial projects launched by the people of both countries in trade, investment, science, and innovation.
The President also wished Emperor Akihito a Happy New Year, hoping strongly that it will be prosperous and fulfilling for the people of Japan.
Dalia Grybauskaitė sent her best wishes for the continued health and happiness of His Imperial Majesty and the Imperial Family as well as for the peace and well-being of Japan and its people.
