Lithuania awarded for Europeanism

Last week the Today in President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received the prize 'Goldene Victoria' in Berlin. All three Baltic states were awarded for nurturing the idea of peaceful struggle for freedom and faith in the future of Europe. The Prestigious Golden Victoria is awarded annually by the German Magazine Publishers Association. The prize is awarded in four categories: the European idea, the contribution to the economy, the European integration, and the merits of the lifetime. This year Germany is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the overthrow of the Berlin Wall. The Wall fell on 9th November 1989.
