On Tuesday, President Gitanas Nausėda held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. During the call, they discussed the situation caused by smuggling balloons being launched from Belarus. The President emphasized that this is an unprecedented hybrid attack against Lithuania, posing a direct threat to civil aviation safety, disrupting the operations of Vilnius Airport and affecting 20,000 passengers. The President thanked the NATO Secretary General for his solidarity.
