The participants of the meeting agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation within international organisations, including support for Ukraine. Regional issues, the situation in the Middle East, and cooperation between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council were also discussed.
“We welcome Lithuania’s growing ties with the State of Kuwait. We appreciate Kuwait's support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. We invite Kuwait to join Lithuania‘s development cooperation projects in Ukraine, such as the reconstruction of schools, the installation of shelters, and support for energy infrastructure," the Vice-Minister Plepytė noted at the meeting.
The meeting focused on opportunities for the development of economic cooperation, including in the fields of information and financial technologies, cybersecurity, life sciences, startup development, agriculture, and the promotion and development of student exchanges.
The Republic of Lithuania and the State of Kuwait established diplomatic relations on 5 April, 1994.
