The Lithuanian and Polish leaders discussed the geopolitical situation, regional security issues, as well as matters of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The Presidents of Lithuania and Poland agreed to continue strengthening NATO’s eastern flank and providing support to Ukraine until its full victory over Russia.
The conversation also focused on the agenda of the upcoming Three Seas Initiative Summit in Warsaw later this month, as well as the Vilnius Summit, which will take place in early June and bring together leaders from the Nordic-Baltic region and NATO’s eastern flank to discuss preparations for the NATO Summit in The Hague.
Marking the 15th anniversary of the tragic Smolensk plane crash, Gitanas Nausėda expressed his deep respect for the memory of President Lech Kaczyński, First Lady Maria Kaczyńska, and all those who perished in the tragedy. He also conveyed his solidarity with the brotherly Polish nation.
