“Lithuania and Japan enjoy strong friendship ties and close bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and shared values of democracy, the rule of law and human rights. We highly value the deepening strategic partnership with Japan on a wide range of issues, especially in trade, culture, education, and technology, and are committed to further strengthening it,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
According to the Head of State, the dialogue with Japan is one of the key pillars of engagement with the Indo-Pacific region. Gitanas Nausėda reiterated that Lithuania highly appreciates Japan’s strong stance in support of Ukraine in the face of Russia’s full-scale war against this country.
