"Allow me to rejoice the very good bilateral relations between our countries. I am certain that this year's joint Lithuanian-French cultural season will only further strengthen ties between our countries and our people. We are interested in further developing the strategic bilateral dialogue with France as one of Lithuania's most important partners, and we are also ready to further strengthen economic cooperation, jointly preserve and promote European values, strive for sustainable growth, international peace and stability wherever we can - from Europe to the Sahel region," said the Head of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
I. Šimonytė expressed her hope for further joint work to successfully strengthen NATO's eastern flank and enhance military cooperation between Lithuania and France.
"In the face of Russia's shocking and brutal war against Ukraine, it is more important than ever that EU and NATO countries come together in support of Ukraine's heroic efforts to defend not only its independence and territorial integrity, but also the security order of Europe and the values of the democratic world. France's firm and principled stance and support brings Ukraine closer to victory and peace, just as our support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations only strengthens all of us," added Prime Minister Šimonytė.
