In his address, the Lithuanian leader stressed that ten years ago, as they rose to defend their European choice, united in their desire for justice, freedom and democracy, Ukrainians proved to be an unstoppable force. According to the President, thanks to the efforts of the courageous Ukrainian people, who did not abandon their positions, a new state of Ukraine was born during those cold months.
“Today, despite Russia’s brutal war of aggression, Ukraine is moving ever closer to Europe. The opening of accession negotiations in December is yet another milestone. The people of Lithuania will be waiting for you. We will support you. And we will do everything to help you join the European Union and NATO,” Gitanas Nausėda pointed out.
