The President emphasized that he highly values the continued strong relationship based on mutual respect and sincere friendship between Lithuania and Poland, as well as fruitful cooperation in NATO and the EU.
“We work together to address security, political and economic issues. I especially appreciate defense cooperation between our countries. I am confident that, despite the changes in the Polish political arena, strategic partnership and cooperation between our two nations will remain intensive and effective. Your country’s active role is critically important in these difficult times as we counter multifaceted threats and challenges facing the whole of our transatlantic community. With Russia continuing its brutal war against Ukraine, we deeply appreciate Poland’s support for Ukraine’s ongoing fight and stand together in full support,” the message of congratulations reads.
The President underlined his belief that Lithuania and Poland will further expand bilateral relations, including people-to-people contacts, especially in the fields of business, infrastructure, education, and culture. On national day, Gitanas Nausėda wished the Polish people continued success and strength as well as long years of prosperity for their country.
