In his meeting with the new Czech Ambassador, the President welcomed productive bilateral cooperation, an intensive agenda of visits and expanding economic relations. He underlined his appreciation of the Czech Republic's contribution to the security of the region and the Alliance through participation in NATO missions. According to the President, Lithuania and the Czech Republic have the potential to develop bilateral contacts in the sectors of high-value-added products and services, including life sciences, information and communication technologies, financial and defense technologies, and tourism. The meeting also focused on support for Ukraine. Gitanas Nausėda underscored the need for strategic planning to ensure that Ukraine receives all the necessary support it needs to win this war.
Meeting with the Ambassador of the Order of Malta, the President welcomed the Order's active engagement in Lithuania and thanked the Ambassador for the social and healthcare programs carried out across the country. The President emphasized that reducing inequality and exclusion and strengthening a welfare state are extremely important to him. Gitanas Nausėda thanked the Ambassador for the Order of Malta's initiatives in Ukraine, underlining that we share the goal and duty to support Ukraine and to prevent the aggressor from setting the rules for the rest of the world. The President noted that First Lady Diana Nausėdienė is also actively involved in the activities of the Order of Malta and that the Ukrainian Center in Vilnius has been established on her initiative.
At the meeting with the Ambassador of Ecuador, the President focused on the prospects for further development of bilateral relations and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, especially in financial technologies and information and communication technologies. Gitanas Nausėda thanked the Ambassador for Ecuador's principled position in the face of Russia's war against Ukraine and invited Ecuador to take on a role regarding Russia's international accountability, the establishment of a special tribunal, and the global food crisis caused by Russia. The President highlighted excellent collaboration in international organizations.
