The President and the Ambassador discussed Lithuania’s diplomatic priorities in Croatia. Gitanas Nausėda underscored the importance of continuing intensive inter-institutional cooperation on the EU-NATO agenda as well as the need for consultations regarding the Balkan policy and EU enlargement to the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries.
According to the President, it is also important to build close contacts with Croatian business associations, promote Lithuania’s exports to Croatia and encourage Croatian businesses to invest in Lithuania. Gitanas Nausėda stressed that special focus should be placed on collaborative work within the framework of the Three Seas Initiative, the development of energy and transport infrastructure, and digitalization issues.
The President highlighted the importance of supporting and promoting the Lithuanian community in Croatia and its activities, as well as cooperation in the fields of culture and science.
