The Foreign Minister thanked the Ambassador for fostering and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and the Czech Republic. “We can only enjoy the excellent relationship between our countries,” Landsbergis said.
The meeting focused on the outcomes of the NATO summit in Vilnius, regional security, support for Ukraine, and cooperation with Indo-Pacific countries. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of transporting grain from Ukraine via Poland to Baltic ports when speaking about support for Ukraine. According to Landsbergis, Lithuania has submitted a proposal to the European Commission to strengthen the transport route between Ukraine and the Baltic countries to ensure an alternative route to export Ukrainian grain.
The Czech Ambassador Korselt has worked in Lithuania since 15 October 2018.
