Gitanas Nausėda and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed the areas of bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Armenia, the geopolitical developments in the South Caucasus region, the strengthening of economic ties with Armenia, and cooperation in the fields of transport, tourism, education, and culture.
According to the President, the positive momentum and intensity of the visits, contacts and cooperation within the bilateral political agenda has to be continued and built upon in order to achieve specific objectives, in particular to implement the necessary domestic reforms and enhance of the role of the European Union. A strong and sustainable European perspective must be encouraged and supported at all levels and by all means.
President Gitanas Nausėda and Ambassador Andrius Pulokas also discussed yet untapped business opportunities in the areas of exports, IT, cyber security, and renewable energy. According to the President, the traditional ties of city partnerships, universities and cultural cooperation should remain at the forefront of the Embassy’s activities.
The President and the Ambassador also discussed the Lithuanian community in Armenia. According to Gitanas Nausėda, in order for the community to thrive, its projects should be continued, and the Lithuanian school further supported. Andrius Pulokas started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000. In recent years, he has served as Ambassador-at-Large in the External Economic Relations and Economic Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
