According to Gitanas Nausėda, the Constitution of 3 May is a document of special significance, bearing witness to the long-standing historical affinity between Lithuania and Poland and to the commitment to the ideas of freedom, civic-mindedness, and statehood, which has taken root in our identities over centuries. “The Constitution of 3 May is an example of the exceptional unity of the two nations, and at the same time a joint contribution to the history of Europe and the world,” the message of congratulations reads.
Gitanas Nausėda welcomed the strong friendship between Lithuania and Poland as well as cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, and stressed that Poland was a reliable ally and an important partner of Lithuania.
The President added that it was particularly important that Lithuania and Poland stood united in support of brothers and sisters in Ukraine. President Gitanas Nausėda expressed his confidence that Lithuania and Poland, together with their partners, would stand by Ukraine until its victory and support its aspirations to become a full member of the European Union and NATO. According to the President, the NATO Summit in Vilnius this summer will be another opportunity to demonstrate the strength and unity of the Alliance.
In his official message of congratulations, Gitanas Nausėda expressed his sincere esteem and warmest wishes to the Polish President.
