In his conversation with Maia Sandu, the Lithuanian leader condemned the attempts of the pro-Russian forces to destabilize the situation in Moldova and reiterated Lithuania’s strong support for Moldova’s Euro-integration aspirations.
“Lithuania firmly supports Moldova and helps it on its democratic and European path. The solidarity of the EU countries with Moldova is particularly important in light of Russia’s threatening policy in the region,” President Gitanas Nausėda pointed out.
Gitanas Nausėda and Maia Sandu also discussed the forthcoming European Political Community Summit in Chișinău on 1 June, as well as support to Moldovan institutions in strengthening their administrative capacity.
