‘Kuwait and Lithuania benefit from meaningful cooperation in various fields, but the potential for expanding the cooperation still remains very high. I am convinced that parliamentary diplomacy can pave the way for diplomacy in politics, business, research and culture,’ Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen wrote. At the same time, she underlined that the Seimas was willing to develop even closer mutually beneficial and friendly relations.
In her letter of congratulations, the Speaker of the Seimas also noted that Lithuania appreciated the efforts by the State of Kuwait in advancing peace in the Middle East. ‘Today, when Russia has been carrying out a brutal war against Ukraine for a year and security threats loom over countries worldwide, all of us have to take our fair share of responsibility,’ her letter reads.
