In his message of congratulations, the President highlighted the friendly bilateral relations between Lithuania and Australia and successful cooperation in the United Nations and within other international formats.
“I highly value the contribution that your country makes as an important NATO partner to maintaining the rules-based world order. In the face of Russia’s war in Ukraine, we must continue to stand together and demonstrate solidarity in supporting Ukraine and toughening international sanctions against Russia. We are strongly interested in enhancing cooperation between NATO and Australia,” the President wrote.
According to Gitanas Nausėda, the Embassy of Lithuania in Australia, which was opened last year, adds to the further development of political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two countries as well as to the promotion of people-to-people contacts.
“I hope that the Austrade trade mission launched in Lithuania last year will also open new avenues for economic and trade cooperation between Lithuania and Australia, advancing mutual investments in the fields of lasers, life sciences and information technologies,” the message of congratulations reads.
Gitanas Nausėda wished all Australians every possible success as well as continued national prosperity.

President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu and the people of India on Republic Day and wished them continued success and well-being.
The President underlined that he highly valued bilateral relations, built in the spirit of mutual respect, between Lithuania and India as well as cooperation in multilateral formats in dealing with urgent international issues. He highlighted the importance of unity of the democratic world for preserving the rules-based global order and pointed out that the international community needed to act decisively to stop Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine by providing it with all possible support.
“I strongly hope we will continue to expand economic cooperation between our two countries as well as launch joint initiatives in higher education and high technologies. I am convinced that the opening of the Embassy of India in Vilnius will contribute to advancing our bilateral contacts,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
