‘I am delighted that Lithuania and Israel are close allies and friends. I am also proud that our long-lasting friendship is based on shared values and responsibility for the peaceful and democratic future in Europe, Middle East, and beyond. The solidarity and close cooperation of our countries are even more essential in the face of brutal and unprecedented war waged against Ukraine, against democracy, and against the rules-based international order,’ said the Head of the Lithuanian Government in her letter.
‘This year our countries celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations. We particularly appreciate the close relationship and close cooperation between our countries and our people. I look forward to working together with you to further strengthen the existing friendship. For many years, Lithuania and Israel have maintained strong historical and cultural bonds, which I am confident we will continue to develop,’ added Prime Minister Šimonytė, wishing the people of Israel prosperity and security.
