The President outlined Lithuania’s experience in addressing energy security issues, as well as in the green and digital transformation of the economy. Gitanas Nausėda stressed Lithuania’s interest in cooperation with Vietnam in implementing various projects of renewable energy sources and technologies, especially in the areas of solar power plants, cybersecurity, and the development of digital services in the public sector.
As Vietnam is planning to build several liquefied natural gas terminals, Lithuania can offer the services of Lithuanian specialists and Klaipėdos nafta company in the development and management of LNG terminals, President Gitanas Nausėda added.
The President also noted that the development of economic relations would further benefit from accelerating the negotiations on the treaty on the avoidance of double taxation of capital between Lithuania and Vietnam. The two leaders agreed to make efforts to conclude the negotiations as soon as possible.
During the meeting, Gitanas Nausėda stressed that he saw great potential for the development of bilateral trade in goods and services between Lithuania and Vietnam, especially in the fields of information technology, logistics services, food, timber, steel, and raw materials for the production of pharmaceutical products.
