“In the current geopolitical context, with Russia waging a bloody war in our neighborhood, allies’ unity and a strong commitment to collective defense are crucial. The fact that the NATO Summit will be held in Lithuania next summer sends a clear message to hostile countries that we are united and will defend every inch of the Alliance,” the President stated.
Gitanas Nausėda underlined that he expected ambitious results of the Vilnius Summit, which would contribute to the further enhancement of the security of the Baltic region and the entire Euro-Atlantic area.
In 2022, the NATO Summit was held in Madrid, Spain. This will be the first time that Lithuania hosts the NATO Summit.
