“Turkey is our major and close ally in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. I appreciate your country’s efforts to strengthen security and stability both in our immediate neighborhood and throughout the Euro-Atlantic area. We consistently support Turkey’s chosen path of European integration.
I highly appreciate the friendly bilateral relations between Lithuania and Turkey and close people-to-people contacts that enrich them in every way. We are ready to further harness the potential of both countries and to strengthen the development of bilateral relations through joint initiatives in mutually important fields such as culture, business and tourism,” the message of congratulations reads.
Gitanas Nausėda also pointed out that as Russia continued its unprovoked and illegal war in Ukraine, we had a duty to work together to ensure that our indivisible security was reinforced with the necessary defense capabilities. At the same time, we have to continue to provide full support for the war-torn Ukraine, and help it to defend its territorial integrity as well as its strategic choices regarding its future.
The President wished Turkey and its people harmony, unity and long years of prosperity.
