“Lithuania and Hungary are linked by historical and cultural ties. Hungary is our ally in NATO. I would like to thank the Hungarian air force team for successfully conducting the NATO Air Policing Mission in Lithuania,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda underlined that with Russia escalating its war in Ukraine with all possible means, the unity of the entire democratic world was vital.
“As members of the European Union and the transatlantic community, we must continue to fully support Ukraine, strengthen sanctions against the aggressor Russia, and counter its efforts to spread disinformation and rewrite history. Economic and energy challenges, too, can be overcome only through unity and coordination,” the President wrote.
