The parties have also discussed the potential of economic cooperation between Lithuania and South Korea in the fields of telecommunications, green energy, semiconductors, and chemical industries.
‘We see South Korea not only as a strong economic partner and a market with great opportunities but also as a like-minded country in the Southeast Asian region, as evidenced by the opening of the Lithuanian embassy in Seoul last year, as we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. We have solid foundations for cooperation, and we want it to grow for the benefit of both countries and their people’, said Chancellor of the Government Giedrė Balčytytė.
As the South Korean port city of Busan runs as a candidate to host the EXPO 2030 exhibition, the experience of participating in these exhibitions, where Lithuania has taken part ever since the restoration of its independence, has been shared; the representatives of the corporation have presented the strengths of Busan and South Korea as candidates for hosting the future exhibition.
Other items discussed have included sustainable green energy solutions that are of great relevance to Lithuania and happen to be among SK Corporation’s operational priorities. It is now the second largest corporation in South Korea.
