“I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and to all the people of the United Kingdom on this profound loss,” the President wrote in his message of condolences.
Gitanas Nausėda noted that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a great, dedicated and remarkable leader who left a significant imprint on the history of the world.
"Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's impressive 70 years of leadership and her immense devotion and love for her people will never be forgotten. Today, the whole world mourns with the United Kingdom," the President wrote.
Gitanas Nausėda underlined that Lithuanians will remember Queen Elizabeth II as they saw her in Lithuania during her visit in 2006 - glowing, loving people and enjoying speaking to them.
The President wished the Royal Family and the United Kingdom unity and consolidation in these difficult days.
