On 19 August, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Egidijus Meilūnas had a telephone conversation with Rick Waters, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and Douglas D. Jones, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. The conversation focused on the bilateral cooperation between the U.S. and Lithuania, Russia's aggression against Ukraine, a continued support for Ukraine, the current situation in the Asia-Pacific region, and China’s aggressive policy towards Taiwan. The interlocutors also highlighted that China's push to isolate Taiwan was unacceptable.
