During the meeting, the President and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed the prospects for strengthening economic, political, and cultural cooperation between Lithuania and Singapore.
According to President Gitanas Nausėda, economic cooperation with Singapore has great potential and the country is a very attractive destination for Lithuanian businesses to seek new opportunities. Gitanas Nausėda added that the free trade agreement concluded between the European Union and Singapore paves the way for the expansion of cooperation in high added value industries such as life sciences, photonics, information and financial technologies, as well as in the traditional business sectors such as chemical, engineering and food industries. The President also pointed out that cooperation between the ports of Klaipėda and Singapore has the potential to expand.
President Gitanas Nausėda and the Ambassador also focused on the enhancement of bilateral institutional collaboration between the two countries’ institutions, as well as scientific and academic cooperation.
