Landsbergis stressed that the EU could not give in to fatigue, when supporting Ukraine’s fight for European values. Military and economic support is particularly important at the moment, as well as a clear prospect of Ukraine’s membership of the EU and further pressure on the aggressor - Russia.
“When considering EU support for Ukraine, we need to be as ambitious and principled as possible,” the Foreign Minister said.
As regards the region's security situation, Landsbergis thanked the EU countries for their contribution to strengthening the security of the Baltic states and NATO’s eastern flank, and noted that the EU and NATO's involvement in the region was crucial, because the region's security situation had changed significantly.
The meeting was organized by the Embassy of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU.
