The President of Lithuania was briefed on President Emmanuel Macron’s talks with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia. The leaders discussed diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the tense security situation near Ukraine’s border, including Russia’s military build-up in Belarus.
“The security situation in the region is the most complex it has been in 30 years, which makes it particularly important to strengthen the defense and deterrence of the Alliance’s eastern flank, including the Baltic region, and to be prepared for all possible scenarios. The principle of the indivisible security of the allies is inviolable,” the President said.
