According to the President, Germany is an important ally and partner of Lithuania, especially in the area of security and defense.
“We appreciate Germany’s leadership and commitment to lead the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion in Lithuania. We welcome the decision to increase the number of German troops in our country. A strong partnership with Germany in defense is an integral part of Lithuania’s security,” the President said.
Gitanas Nausėda emphasized that allied military presence in the region was both our security guarantee and a commitment made in solidarity to collective defense.
