“Our countries share democratic values and aspirations to deepen cooperation across all areas. It is symbolic that Korea built the LNG vessel “Independence” which has become key to Lithuania’s energy independence,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
According to Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuania sees great potential for developing economic relations by making use of the possibilities offered by the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, especially in expanding cooperation in hi-tech, innovation, financial technologies, and life sciences.
The President emphasized that Lithuania was interested in promoting bilateral contacts; therefore, it has enhanced diplomatic representation by opening an embassy of Lithuania to the Republic of Korea.
