Today it is particularly important to remain loyal to the democratic principles and common values we share and to ensure that human rights and the freedom of choice are not violated," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
The President firmly believes that Lithuania and the United States of America by working together in the North Atlantic Alliance, the United Nations Security Council and other multilateral forums will ensure the security for the citizens of both nations and partner states. She also underlines that we can be justly proud of a strong EU-US partnership based on mutual friendship and common values.
The Lithuanian head of state wished a happy day of celebration, well-being and prosperity to President Barack Obama and the American people.
