The visit also has the objective of strengthening bilateral economic, cultural, defense, educational, and scientific contacts as well as development cooperation.
Lithuania and Denmark are strong NATO allies and committed partners in the European Union. The President thanked the Crown Princess for Denmark’s military contribution to strengthening the security of Lithuania, the Baltic States and the whole of Europe through deployments to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence and the Baltic Air Policing mission.
“The Republic of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Denmark enjoy mutually friendly relations that we highly value and cherish. As EU member states, we have a shared interest to strengthen our capacity to act in a united and effective manner, both in implementing reforms within the European Union and in safeguarding Europe’s interests in our neighborhood and on the international stage,” the President said.
Among the other issues discussed was bilateral and regional cooperation as well as climate change and green economy initiatives.
Lithuania and Denmark maintain close ties across a wide range of areas, including visual arts, cinematography, theater, dance, music, archives, museums, and libraries.
