During the visit, the President will meet with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, and participate at the fourpartite meeting with the Presidents of Germany, Latvia, and Estonia. At the meetings, bilateral relations between Germany and Lithuania, cooperation in security and defense, and matters related to managing illegal migration will be discussed.
“Germany is a strategic partner of Lithuania in the European Union, ally in NATO, and like-minded state in international organizations. Our bond is based on shared democratic values, respect for human rights, and the idea of a United Europe. Currently, global political developments require maintaining a continuous, active political dialogue in a multilateral and bilateral format. I am convinced that, despite the outcome of the election in Germany, our cooperation will only become stronger,” the President says.
During his visit, President Gitanas Nausėda will also meet with the managers of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Lithuanian community in Germany.
