Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has thanked the Czech Republic for its support in combating Belarusian regime-sponsored hybrid attack, which involves illegal migration flows across the Belorussia-Lithuania border.
The parties have also discussed the EU’s migration and asylum policy and the need to strengthen the protection of the EU’s external borders.
The Head of the Lithuanian Government has thanked the Czech Foreign Minister for his country’s solidarity in sending troops to the NATO’s Forward Presence Battalion in Lithuania, and for the contribution to the protection of the Baltic airspace.
This year, Lithuania and the Czech Republic are celebrating the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the thirtieth anniversary of the restoration of these relations.
