“Lithuania faces unprecedented flows of illegal migrants this year. The situation in exceptional as it is the Belarusian regime and criminal structures that are engaged in a hybrid attack on Lithuania and the EU as a whole. Even though the flow of illegal migrants has been stabilised, the situation continues to be complicated and unpredictable particularly bearing in mind developments in Afghanistan,” Minister Landsbergis said.
At the same time Mr Minister expressed his satisfaction at intensive relationship between Lithuania and Spain. Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain, and Arancha González Laya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, visited Lithuania this year. The centenary of establishing diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Spain will be marked in 2022.
During the conversation the ministers also discussed relations with China and exchanged opinions on the situation in Afghanistan.
