Lithuania is interested in expanding its cooperation with Taiwan in various fields, laying particular emphasis on the development of economic relations and cultural exchanges. The Taiwanese representative office in Vilnius will undoubtedly contribute to the promotion of closer people-to-people contacts between Lithuanians and Taiwanese, and better mutual understanding.
Lithuania plans to open a trade office in Taipei this autumn, in line with the Government's goal of diversifying Lithuania's export markets, and to seek new partners among democratic states in the Indo-Pacific region.
Taiwan has representations in 74 countries around the world, including 18 in the European Union. The country currently has its representative office in Riga. The representative is accredited to all three Baltic states.
