The President and other leaders of the 3SI as well as Germany, Greece, and the European Commission, will discuss geopolitical challenges to security, the recovery of 3SI region after the COVID-19 pandemic, and deeper integration into the EU as well as matters related to transatlantic cooperation. The leaders of the 3SI countries will adopt a joint political declaration to endorse the strategic guidelines for further cooperation.
The Three Seas Initiative comprises twelve EU member states: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The U.S., Germany, and the European Commission are strategic partners of the 3SI. This is a presidential level format complemented by governmental, parliamentary, and business cooperation. The Three Seas Initiative aims to promote a more rapid development of the region and convergence with the Western part of the European Union in increasing connectivity of the participating countries in the areas of transport, energy, and digitalization, especially in the North-South axis. It also aims to enhance cohesion within the EU and transatlantic bonds between the EU and U.S.
